4 February 2004
The first day of the Community Kampung is dominated by final preparations for the arrival of delegates from around the world over the next several days. Finishing touches are put on the Kampung itself by a dedicated crew of Equator Initiative staff, the facilitators, and volunteers from Malaysia and beyond. As community delegates - including finalists for the Equator Prize 2004 - arrive in Malaysia throughout the day, they begin the process of settling into a new landscape and the urban adventure that is Kuala Lumpur.
