Technical Publications & "State-of-the-Art" Events

This category includes projects specifically aimed at advocacy, outreach, resource mobilzation and the sharing of information and knowledge. It is in this context, that UNSO has prepared a good number of technical and conceptual publications, has produced audio-visuals and organized international meetings and seminars. While the number of projects covered here is small, many other projects included elements of research and outreach, particularly with national or regional relevance.

Information on efforts in combating desertification and active advocacy on dryland issues has always been a necessary feature of UNSO's work, not at least in the context of resource mobilization. These projects reflect in a way UNSO's efforts to establish an institutional memory. Many of the publications and visual materials developed in the context of the various projects do complement the information contained in this compendium.

The technical publication series is a good example as it covers experiences in the context of various projects referred to elsewhere. These publications discuss technical issues and state-of-the-art developments were prepared for decision-makers, administrators, researchers and the interested public.
