The Commission Report was launched as part of the national conference "Corporate Social Responsibility in Action" organized by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) and the United Nations Development Programme under the auspices of Mrs. Lydia Shouleva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy. Participating in discussions and presentations at the forum were 200 representatives of national and international institutions, businesses, diplomats, BBLF members and members of the UN Global Compact.

Ms Koldanova, Deputy Minister of Economy opened the conference on Corporate Social Responsibility in Action by sharing the government's commitment to "improve the business climate in Bulgaria, to support the changes in the legislative framework, and to optimize the regulatory environment to favor foreign investment". Neil Buhne, Resident Representative for UNDP Bulgaria said that "we are not looking for more charity but a more hands-on involvement of the business community in development to accelerate the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in Bulgaria".

Seven companies were rewarded for their best CSR practices - TNT, Macropharm, Danone, Balkanpharma, Vidima, SAS Radisson Hotel and Sofiyska Voda - for their special contribution to the community, and to sustainable development in Bulgaria. "We are at the start of a road to a better society" said Maxim Behar, Chairman of the BBLF. The event highlighted the importance of public and private partnership which will accelerate development for Bulgaria as well as EU integration.
