Tajikistan
is at high risk to a range of natural and technological disasters
and, more specifically, to three potentially major disasters:
a breaching of Lake Sarez, a landslide below the Baipaza hydroelectric
power station and a major earthquake in Dushanbe. Following
independence and five years of civil war, the accumulation of
both man-made crises and natural disasters has increased vulnerability
in all parts of the country. (...)
