Lithuania is committed to promoting people centered development
through policy dialogue, advocacy and partnerships with the government,
civil society and others in the areas of human rights, poverty
eradication, gender equity and sustainable environment towards
the improvement of the quality of life of the Lithuanian people.
It is remarkable that Lithuania has not only taken initiatives
on the domestic front, but is also considerably involved in regional
developments. The conscientious building of a strategy for overseas
development assistance is already happening. The expertise that
Lithuania has amassed on the experience of recent years will be
invaluable for many other countries that are going through their
own transitions.
