An Introduction Course to UNDP's Mandate and Work

This course features a 5-7 hours self-paced introduction to UNDP’s mandate and work in the area of Crisis Prevention and Recovery. The course will familiarize you with the accelerated policy debates, analysis and contested concepts that are shaping the UNDP agenda of CPR and introduce you to basic CPR terms and concepts as applied and implemented by UNDP.

By the time you finish this course, you will be able to:

Understand UNDP’s work in Crisis Prevention and Recovery;

Discuss the main thematic issues and technical focus areas, such as conflict prevention, transitional recovery, small arms & DDR, justice and security sector reform, natural disaster reduction, and mine action;

Comprehend basic CPR terms and concepts as applied and implemented by UNDP;

Understand funding issues related to the work in CPR;

Outline some of the development responses for crisis prevention and recovery that UNDP is advocating and implementing in its programmes.
