    UNDP Experts Deem Latest Biometric Voter Registration Software a Success

    Sana'a, as part of the GCC initiative and its implementation mechanism, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) technical experts under the Multi-Donors Basket Fund (MDBF) and the Supreme Commission for Elections and Referendum (SCER) judges huddled late into the night around the commission’s meeting room throughout this week, testing the latest software version for the Biometric Voter Registration kits set to be used in the nation’s largest registration drive.

    Arhab Youth Beneficiaries Completed first Phase of 3x6 Approach

    Sana’a, More than 60 youth in Arhab area celebrated today at Eagle Hotel in the Capital Sana’a their successful completion of the first phase of the 3x6 approach phase. The 3x6 approach of UNDP’s Youth Economic Empowerment Project (YEEP) targeted Arhab area north Sana’a as being a post-conflict area through WASH interventions.

    French Government joins nations supporting elections in Yemen

    Sana’a, Sunday 9 February 2014, signaling greater international cooperation for the transitional period and the electoral processes that are its backbone, the United Nations Development Programme and the French Government on Sunday formally signed an agreement that would contribute some US$ 406,620 to Yemen’s new voter registry.

    The UNDP's Acting Resident Representative Mr. Mahamed Hassen and Mr. Anders Frankenberg, Head of MENA Unit of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) signed a Cost Sharing Agreement through which the SIDA will donate SEK 14,000,000 ($ 2,1 million, approximately) to support the Implementation of Transitional Justice Project in Yemen.
