What is the project about

Mine_Action


The project aims to assist the Government of Yemen to effectively deal with the humanitarian and developmental problems of mines, Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) and the new threat from Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), including resource mobilization, technical advice, procurement and financial management to enable the Government to plan, co-ordinate, implement and manage all mine action activities in the country.

What have we accomplished so far


Below are the main Mines Actions Achievements 1999 to 2012:

  • Area cleared: 27,613,727 sq. mts
  • Devices destroyed: 289,422
  • MRE covered 1,638,635 (856247 males and 786,359 females in 932 local communities)
  • Victims assistance was provided as follows: 2789 medical surveys in 2789 medical surveys in 1035 local communities, 1958 medical examinations in 881 local communities, 1783 items of medical assistance to 1993, victims in 917 local communities.
