Legal Framework

At this stage, UNDP Yemen is in the stage of finalizing the Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP) for the period 2012-2015, which has been delayed due to political unrest throughout 2011.

The new CPAP will be a result of an alignment of the current Country Programme Document (CPD) with the Government Transitional Plan (2012-2014)

The new UNDAF (2012-2015) targets the vulnerable population and is geared to support acceleration of MDG progress using Human Rights Based Approach, mainstreaming conflict prevention and promoting interface between humanitarian and development.

The four UNDAF priority areas are

  • Inclusive & Diversified Economic Growth with a Social Dividend
  • Sustainable/Equitable Access to quality BSS to Accelerate progress on MDGs
  • Women & Youth Empowerment, and
  • Good Governance & Social Cohesion.
