This Annual Report on Human Development in the Republic of Uzbekistan focuses on one of the key indicators that reflect the essence of human existence and development; health status. The report consists of four chapters which describe and analyse general human development trends in the Republic of Uzbekistan, while pointing out how the country's health indicators and other human development indicators are interrelated.

A special chapter titled Millennium Development Goals (MDG) focuses on the problems the Republic of Uzbekistan faces, and on the efforts the country is making in order to achieve the MDGs.
