Saving our Tuna: UNDP and Discovery Channel in Asia offer an inside look at technology to save a way of life in the Pacific
Saving our Tuna, a new half-hour documentary to be broadcast across Asia in June for World Oceans Day, takes you to the richest fishing grounds on the planet, where fleets of fishing vessels equipped with sonar, and sophisticated satellite tracking devices are catching millions of tons of tuna, making it the third most harvested fish in the ocean.

World Environment Day 2014 - Small Island Developing States on “frontline” in Battle Against Climate Change
As people around the globe today commemorate World Environment Day, which focuses this year on Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and their particular vulnerability to the effects of climate change, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is renewing its call for an approach to environmental protection, one which recognizes the intricate and deep connection between protecting the environment and human development.

The first of six UNDP-supported police stations opened in Hammamet, Tunisia last week, part of a programme in support of security sector reform, financed by the Governments of Belgium, Japan and Norway. Five more are currently under construction or renovation.

In a concerted effort to strengthen the rule of law and improve access to justice across the occupied Palestinian territory, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, UN Women and UNDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People signed a USD 29.5 million agreement to support the establishment of a viable Palestinian state solidly based on the rule of law, human rights and justice.
