Since that time, we’ve played a transformational role in reducing poverty, empowering women, creating jobs, protecting the environment, and lots more in the nearly 170 countries where we work.
3 March: Pride and PrejudicePride and Prejudice is a global, 24-hour event spanning three cities around the world. It will catalyze fresh debate on the economic and human costs of discrimination against the LGBT community.
COP21 Paris climate change conferenceAt COP21 in Paris in December 2015, the world will meet to negotiate a new climate change agreement. A universal agreement that covers all countries, developed and developing, the COP21 climate deal will serve as the starting point for a long-term effort to stop global temperatures from rising more than 2°C (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit).

6-8 May: Social Inclusion of Women - From Beijing to Post-2015UNDP, with UN Women and the Government of Argentina, will convene a Global Conference entitled “Women and Social Inclusion: From Beijing to Post-2015,” as part of a year-long series of events commemorating the twentieth Anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action(BPfA).
14-18 March: World Conference on Disaster Risk ReductionThe 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction takes place from 14 to 18 March in Sendai, Japan. UNDP has been engaged with partners and Member States in the development of a Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction - a successor to the Hyogo Framework for Action - that will be launched at the Conference.
