UNDP and UN Women sign a USD 29.5 million Agreement with the Palestinian Ministries of Justice and Interior
In a concerted effort to strengthen the rule of law and improve access to justice across the occupied Palestinian territory, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, UN Women and UNDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People signed a USD 29.5 million agreement to support the establishment of a viable Palestinian state solidly based on the rule of law, human rights and justice.

People in Madagascar voted Friday in a presidential run-off expected to end the country’s four-year political stalemate. Close to eight million registered women and men were due to elect a president and 151 members of parliament. The vote is seen as an important step toward resuming development in a country where nine people out of ten live in poverty.
