UNDP brings together a dynamic and professional community of development practitioners working together across the globe to promote gender equality. Through our virtual knowledge networks staff provide customized advice, resources and experiences to support each other in integrating gender equality and women’s empowerment in all areas of our work. They have access to the latest discussions, news and guidance to stimulate innovative approaches to UNDP’s gender equality work, across all regions. Other online sources bring together UN agencies, governments, academia, civil society organizations, and women leaders to promote sharing of knowledge and resources, such as the iKNOW Politics network for women in politics and the America Latina Genera platform for the Latin American region.

UNDP’s new professional social networking platform, Teamworks, launched in November 2010 is enabling communication among colleagues scattered all over the world. Teamworks gives a number of benefits:
