Human Resources in the UNDP

Human resources at UNDP are about people and people are the core asset of the UNDP. One of UNDP’s challenges is that achieving gender parity in the workforce is pressing because UNDP - striving to be a network of development practitioners – must be able to count within its ranks the best possible expertise from all cultures and backgrounds.

UNDP continues to pursue the UN target of achieving gender balance. A Gender Parity Action Plan was developed in 2008 by Office of Human Resources (OHR). The Action Plan focuses on the following four areas:

  • Talent Sourcing
  • Staff Capacity
  • Enabling Environment
  • Monitoring and Reporting
