The renewed UNDP Oslo Governance Centre (OGC) was officially opened on the 12th June 2015 in Oslo by the Norwegian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Børge Brende, and UNDP Administrator, Helen Clark. During the opening and in the presence of high level invitees from UNDP and outside, keynote speeches were given on the role of governance and peacebuilding in supporting sustainable development, particularly in countries in transition.

In addition, the first Oslo Governance and Peacebuilding Dialogue took place, opened by Helen Clark, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway. This first Dialogue was on 'Measuring Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: promoting peaceful and inclusive societies'. It focused on the importance to post-conflict and transitional societies of measuring progress on SDG 16 which aims to ‘promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels’.
