Ensuring women’s and men’s equal participation in governance processes, and their equal benefits from services, are preconditions for the achievement of inclusive and effective democratic governance. UNDP supports advocacy, policy and legal reforms to accelerate the participation of women in decision making across all branches of the state.
UNDP supports national partners to advance women’s legal rights and empowerment, strengthen their access to justice, ensure gender responsive and equitable service delivery, including for women’s health, and promote their equal participation in decision making.  UNDP works to ensure that women are engaged at all stages of formal and informal peace processes and that their priorities inform the agenda for conflict prevention, early recovery from crises and durable peace.
