Capacity Development of Regional Institutions in Electoral Assistance/Monitoring and Conflict Prevention

A major priority in the West Africa region is to strengthen democratic governance institutions and processes, enhance political participation and support the effective management of elections. In order to secure the mechanisms of social accountability the GPECS regional proposal will emphasize the support to Regional Electoral Networks and the promotion of linkages / consultations between Electoral National Bodies. The actvities will focus on Capacity development of Regional Institutions and RECs in Electoral Assistance/Monitoring and Conflict Prevention, Reinforcing Capacities of Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs)to manage credible and transparent elections and Reinforcing CSOs and regional CSO Groupings.
