About the Centre

Operational since December 2012, the Centre was founded by the Government of Singapore and UNDP. It represents a unique collaboration. Singapore is a global leader in public service excellence, which has been a driving force behind the nation’s rapid economic and social successes. The country’s achievements provide inspiration for others seeking to build a professional public service with integrity, diversity and a focus on clients and results.

UNDP is a leading development agency of the United Nations system that partners with countries in strengthening their institutions and supporting democratic governance.

How we work

Through its evidence building activities the centre identifies trends, innovations and public solutions. It brings officials, leaders, policy-makers and experts together to debate and collaborate on addressing the public challenges of the day.

The Centre operates under the joint direction of UNDP and the Government of Singapore. A steering committee with representatives from UNDP, the Government of Singapore, and an independent expert oversees the Centre’s work.

Our Partners

We are forging partnerships with other centres of excellence, universities, think-tanks, and civil society organisations. We are also reaching out across the UN to create issue-based partnerships with other UNDP Global Centres, Regional Service Centres, and UN Centres for research and learning.
