Bahrain gives $1 million to UNDP for Haiti Cash for Work Programme

UNDP Administrator Helen Clark met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UN, H.E. Mr. Tawfeeq Almansoor, on Tuesday, 30th March 2010.  During their meeting, the Ambassador presented the Administrator with a check of US$ 1 million as Bahrain´s contribution to recovery efforts in Haiti.  UNDP will be using these funds for the Haiti Recovery Programme, and the contribution will go to the UNDP Cash for Work Programme to help the people of Haiti.

The Administrator also discussed with the Ambassador her upcoming visit to Bahrain in April and potential future areas of cooperation.
