Helen Clark discusses development priorities with Esther Brimmer

Helen Clark met today with Esther Brimmer, new U.S.  Assistant Secretary for International Organizations.  They discussed areas of common concern, including how UNDP and the U.S. can work together in crisis and post-crisis countries where human development is at risk.  They also discussed multilateralism, the importance of the U.S. to the development work of UNDP, and the role of UNDP in democratic governance and the achievement of the MDGs.   UNDP also renewed its commitment to accountability and to demonstrating results.
