Document Summary

Over the past 10 years, Bangladesh has made significant progress in human development and poverty reduction. Yet, poverty rates are still high and the constant potential for disasters - both natural and manmade - threaten to stall or even reverse this progress.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is supporting the Government of Bangladesh in its efforts to sustain and build upon the achievements of the last decade, as well as to remain on track to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. Along with its partners, UNDP has accomplished key results in Bangladesh in the areas of governance, poverty reduction, environment, energy, climate change and disaster management.
