Document Summary

Haiti's ongoing humanitarian crisis following the massive earthquake of January 2010 is also equally a development crisis, since recovering from the devastation the earthquake caused will require rebuilding in all sectors.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is supporting the Government of Haiti as it restores its infrastructure and services in ways that ensure long-term recovery and reduce risks presented by future natural disasters. It has achieved notable progress in the areas of jobs creation, reconstruction of infrastructure and services, and disaster preparedness. It has also successfully promoted democratic governance and the restoration of justice and security systems.
