The objective of this NAMA is to trigger resilient low-carbon development in the dairy sector through the introduction of climate-smart agricultural practices and to bring the dairy production sector of Uganda onto a low carbon and more resilient path.
This NAMA is designed to create clean energy solutions that will enable transformational and sustainable change in the education sector, with positive impacts in the private sector and on people’s livelihoods.
The NAMA promotes an alternative to the existing waste value chain. Instead of waste being collected for disposal only, the NAMA facilitates the diversion of 90 per cent of collected waste away from disposal sites and towards various recycling practices.
The NAMA introduces an innovative market based approach through private sector participation for the manufacture and distribution of 1 million units of solar PV-based lanterns and improved cookstoves respectively in Kenya.
The Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) on “Access to clean energy through establishment of market based solutions in Ghana” has the potential to bring about a transformational change in the sector, resulting in emissions reductions, promoting sustainable development and increased access to clean energy technologies for communities in Ghana.
The NAMA for the renewable energy sector supports Lao PDR in achieving the goal defined in the Rural Electrification Master Plan, namely to provide access to electricity to more than 90 per cent of households in Lao PDR by 2020. The NAMA will not only reduce GHG emissions through the replacement of fossil fuels with renewables but also support rural communities through the promotion of tourism, agricultural facilities, health centres, and literacy centres.
The overall target of the NAMA is to support Vanuatu in achieving the goal defined in the National Energy Road Map (NERM). The NAMA will not only replace fossil fuels with renewable energies but will also significantly contribute to Sustainable Development (SD) benefits, such as improvement of the situation of groups with specific vulnerabilities, women and the poor.
The overall objective of the NAMA is to support Cambodia´s energy efficiency policy and to improve efficiency in the industrial sector and to build capacity in the field of energy efficiency. The introduction of efficient sewing, washing, drying machines and compressors will improve energy efficiency in motor driven systems and will decrease GHG emissions by reducing the use of electricity.
