Development and use of Governance Indicators in Africa

On commission from the United Nations Development Programme Oslo Governance Centre (UNDP OGC) and the European Commission, the Institute for Democracy in South Africa (IDASA) has partnered with think tanks in three countries to produce a comparative study on the role and potential of national governance assessments in strengthening democratic governance in sub-Saharan Africa. The report offers clear policy recommendations to inform donor strategies, and emphasizes the importance of national processes.
