As one of our largest government contributors, Italy is a vital partner in UNDP’s mission to end extreme poverty, reduce inequality and achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. UNDP’s work and the priorities of the Italian Government converge in many areas, especially in our shared ambition to help countries reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and tackle root causes of migration and building resilience to prevent and mitigate the impact of crisis and conflict.

UNDP is helping Italy to operationalize its G7 commitments through the establishment of the Africa Centre for Sustainable Development in Rome. The Centre’s goal is to accelerate progress towards the SDGs in Africa through disseminating best practices on climate change, food security, access to water and clean energy.
