United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN’s global development network, connecting people with knowledge in 177 countries and territories around the world.
We opened our office in Ulaanbaatar in 1973 after working with Mongolia for more than a decade, and are proud to have been a partner in Mongolia’s transition to democracy and a market economy.
Since then, UNDP has helped to realise projects and policies supporting equitable, sustainable development for all Mongolians.
By 2030, Mongolia and the world agreed to end poverty, fight inequality and ensure a planet capable of supporting future generations, under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
UNDP advised on the inclusion of the SDGs into Mongolia’s Sustainable Development Vision, bringing the global goals into the Mongolian context.
Between now and 2021, UNDP and the Government of Mongolia will work towards laying the foundations for the global goals to be realized in Mongolia. This includes in human development, disaster risk reduction and climate change, to ensure a future in which no Mongolian is left behind.
