The Community-Based Resilience Analysis (CoBRA) Assessment Report presents the findings on the resilience assessment conducted in Karamoja sub-region. The report looks at defining from the perspective of local communities the characteristics and aspects of resilience.

Report Highlights

  • Drought and associated food shortages are most common hazards facing the districts in the Karamoja sub-region. Other conflicts include conflict; mainly clan based raiding of livestock, livestock diseases.
  • Resilient Households have large herds of livestock, earn a certain level of income or an income generating activity or have a member of the family employed.
  • Most resilient households had multiple sources of income to enable them survive apart from live stock herding e.g. brewing, grain trading etc.
