New approaches to poverty measurement in Turkey to be discussed

New approaches to poverty measurement will be discussed in a workshop in Ankara on 20 February.

Ankara — The “New Approaches to Poverty Measurement of Turkey” workshop will be organized by Economics Department of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University in cooperation with Levy Economics Institute of Bard College and UNDP in Turkey.

The workshop will be held on 20 February in Ankara University.

Final report of a research project on the new approaches to poverty measures in Turkey will be shared during the workshop with researchers, experts, academics and students who studies on poverty reduction.

The research project was prepared in partnership of Ankara University, Levy Institute and UNDP in Turkey.

The contributions of new poverty measurements which have developed within this research project will be discussed in the workshop.

In addition, during the sessions of the workshop, there will be exchange of ideas among participants on different approaches on measurement of poverty in Turkey.
