    Eight countries pilot UN reform

    Kemal Derviş, in his role as the Chair of the United Nations Development Group (UNDG), announced in February that the UN will explore new ways of enhancing greater cohesion at the country level in Albania, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uruguay, and Vietnam. The governments of these countries each volunteered last year to become pilots in what has been labeled “One UN.”

    Local pioneers of sustainable development

    23 local community projects from 18 different provinces of Turkey were chosen as worthy of receiving financial support from the ‘Grants Programme’, implemented within the framework of the “Integration of Sustainable Development into Sectoral Policies” project, which is being conducted by UNDP. The total budget allocated to the winning projects, funded by the European Union, is 913,000 Euros.
