    The Sudan Recovery Fund (SRF), established in 2008, has succeeded in attracting considerable donor resources (USD 112 million to date) to aid stabilization and recovery in South Sudan. Since mid 2009, the Fund has sharpened its focus on the provision of crucial assistance to the regions of South Sudan that face high levels of insecurity and vulnerability.

    South Sudan Recovery Fund's (SSRF) third round of funding rolls out as preparatory work and construction of key infrastructure began in three states during the first quarter of 2011. The SSRF Stabilization Programmes in Jonglei, Lakes, and Eastern Equatoria States were each reviewed and approved by the Government's Inter-Ministerial Appraisal Committee in November 2010.

    In handover ceremonies held on 28 November, the state government of Eastern Equatoria officially opened a newly constructed model market in the capital, Torit, and received machinery for the construction of feeder roads.
