UNDP Ex-Board views Korea-UNDP development results on Twitter
The first global UNDP Twitter marathon was held on 5th of September 2012. Short messages (tweets) were shown on a large screen during the UNDP section of the Executive Board Meeting in New York.
The messages highlighted the impact of UNDP development work in empowering lives and helping build resilience from UNDP country offices, regional centres, policy centres and staff from all over the world.
The UNDP Seoul Policy Centre was right at the heart of it, providing updates on the successes on the ground through the Joint Korea-UNDP MDG Trust Fund, wider development cooperation with Korea and the broader successes of UNDP.
While a Korean delegate was addressing the room, the Seoul Policy Centre put messages up on the board showcasing how Korea and UNDP were helping get 800 Haitian women back into work and helping villagers get to market all year round in Lao PDR.
The UNDP Administrator, Helen Clark, Deputy Administrator, Rebecca Gryspan and other senior staff members forwarded (retweeted) the Seoul Policy Centre’s tweets.

The commitment to leave no one behind is a key feature of the 2030 Agenda, and this focus is reflected in the ‘UNDP Human Development Report: Work for Human Development’, which calls for sustainable work and the need to address gender inequalities in the world of work.
