Government affiliated research institutes

KIET advises the Korean government on industrial policy and undertakes research on effective public and private strategies for national productivity and competitiveness.

KIEP engages in economic research on Korea and the global economy. It advises the government on major international economic policy issues and maintains information on Korea’s international economic policies.

KIAT suggests R&D strategies for industrial technology through planning and policy research to promote Korea’s industrial development and innovation. It also works to strengthen the competitiveness of the industrial technology ecosystem in Korea.

  • Korea Research Council for Industrial Science & Technology (IstK)

IstK manages Government-funded research Institutes to connect national science and technology to industries by promoting, fostering and evaluating its 13 member institutes.

KITECH supports small and medium enterprises penetrate global markets through developing core high technologies with commercialization potential while preparing for future markets by acquiring new industrial technology.

KEIT engages in policy research, R&D management, technology assessment and international cooperation.

The IPS works to predict changes in domestic industrial competition and helps predict future environment changes. It also focuses on policy and strategy development aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the government and business.

Non-Governmental Research Institutes

KPC helps increase the productivity of industries to promote growth. It also supports new management innovation movements within business to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

KDS research focuses on areas and policies related to international development in developing and transitioning economies. It works to cut poverty and boost and economic development.
