Governance and the Post-2015 Development Framework

Governance and the Post-2015 Development Framework

July 3, 2013

As we approach the MDG deadline, development partners must look beyond 2015 and consider the role of democratic governance in continuing to promote development objectives. This will be particularly important if the international community commits itself to a new set of goals. Democratic governance has not received enough attention in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), but is increasingly advocated for the post-2015 development agenda.

Against this backdrop, this series of Issue Briefs have been prepared as part of the Global Thematic Consultation on Governance and the Post-2015 Development Agenda. The Issue Briiefs will be available in English, French and Spanish. The first in the series, "Anti-Corruption for the Achievement of Sustainable Human Development", "Integrating Rule of Law in the Post-2015 Development Framework","Localizing Sustainable Human Development: Consideration for the Post-2015 Development Agenda" and "Parliament’s Role in Defining and Promoting the Post-2015 Development Agenda", are now available. An Issue Brief on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) will soon be released in the same Series.
