Part of a regional study titled Enhancing Gender Visibility in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change in the Caribbean this report provides the findings of the Dominican Republic Country Assessment. This report presents the results based on data collected from field visits and consultations with eight institutions.
The report provides a socio-economic, political and environmental overview of the country, identifies pre-existing vulnerabilities associated with gender inequality and points out geographic factors that increase the vulnerabilities of some areas of the country to hazards. The report provides detailed information on the relevant institutions and programmes in the Dominican Republic.
