Strengthening rule of law and access to justice for the disadvantaged groups and marginalized communities

June 3, 2014

The annual rule of law and access to justice regional community of practice forum,  took place in Izmir, Turkey, on 21-22 September 2011. The forum promoted policy and programming discussion about challenges faced by disadvantaged groups and marginalised communities, presented lessons learned and good practices, and discussed specific challenges in designing and implementing projects to better inform future initiatives.

In addition, the event featured presentations from experts in the field of rule of law, access to justice, legal empowerment, gender, minority, and other issues. The event was also expanded to include peer review of relevant human rights and access to justice projects from the region, with a view to create further synergies with some of the catalytic initiatives being implemented at the country level.
