I’m Barbora Galvankova and I’m UNDP’s Gender Knowledge Management Associate for Europe and CIS.

My main areas of expertise:
1. Capturing and sharing good practices and knowledge related to gender equality and women’s empowerment
2. Supporting online collaboration of gender practitioners in the region
3. Advocacy for transforming gender stereotypes
4. Communicating UNDP contributions to gender equality in the region

Before joining UNDP, I worked at the Research and Information Centre for Development (CRID) in France, focusing on education for development. I was supporting facilitation of European NGO networks promoting sustainable development policies and actions including gender.

My work

I facilitate the sharing of knowledge on UNDP’s virtual network for gender in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), connecting UNDP and its partners on issues related to gender equality. The space is designed to share experiences and build a body of knowledge related to gender equality and women’s empowerment in the region, and to find and implement effective solutions together.

2010-2011 Developed UNDP’s virtual network space for Gender in Europe and CIS.
