Launching of the ministry of justice’s electronic legal databases by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme

 In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Justice President Chakib Kortbawi, the Ministry of Justice, the  European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are organizing a ceremony for the launching of the legal electronic databases for the Ministry of Justice and the Institute of Judicial Studies, which gives access to all judges to valuable legal knowledge. The event will take place at 1 pm on Friday July 6, 2012 at the House of the Lawyer - Palace of Justice, Beirut.

The ceremony will be attended by her Excellency the Head of the Delegation of the European Union Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst, and his Excellency UNDP Resident Representative Mr. Robert Watkins and many distinguished Lebanese judges.

The launching of these electronic legal databases comes within the framework of the UNDP implemented project “Improving Access to Justice”, which is funded by the European Union. It aims at technically assisting the Ministry of Justice implement the EU funded master automation plan of the court of Beirut and also facilitating access to information to all judges through the utilization of 6 electronic legal databases.
