    2013 Human Development Report

    The 2013 Human Development Report – "The Rise of the South: Human Progress in a Diverse World" – will be launched on 14 March in Mexico City by President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico and UNDP Administrator Helen Clark. The 2013 Human Development Report examines the profound shift in global dynamics driven by the fast-rising new powers of the developing world and its long-term implications for human development.

    The Palestinian Industrial Estate and UNDP sign an Exchange of Letters funded by the Government of Japan

    Ramallah – The Palestinian Industrial Estate and Free Zone Authority (PIEFZA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in the presence of the Representative Office of Japan to the Palestinian Authority, signed an exchange of letters worth USD 1,487,532 to establish an administration building for the Jericho Agro-Industrial Park.

    Arab Governments commit to strengthening youth volunteerism

    The Governments of Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Yemen have endorsed a project agreement with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme to facilitate youth volunteerism as a positive and sustainable mechanism for social change. Their endorsement follows a year-long process of national consultations with youth in the region and marks the transition to the implementation phase of the project.

    Strengthening ties with the Kurdish parliament to boost public sector modernization
