Asia-Pacific experts invited to apply for advanced training on ‘waste to energy for developing countries’

Experts in Asia-Pacific countries are invited to apply for a five-day advanced training course on ‘Waste to Energy for Developing Countries’ to be held on 25–30 November 2013 at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

The course will emphasize how knowledge can be shared between countries, organizations and businesses and will also introduce advanced Korean technology in chemistry, nanotechnology and biotechnology.

It is supported by the Green Technology Centre of Korea (GTC-K), Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and UNDP.

Lecturers include top tier experts from Korean and international universities.

10 participants will be selected and travel, accommodation and meals will covered by UNDP.

Experts should be enagaged in professional work or enrolled in courses related to international development, sustainable development or green- technology.

Successful applicants should:

  • have substantive knowledge and demonstrated interest in resource circulation, waste management and a commitment to strengthening their understanding of waste-to-energy options and practices; 
  • be committed and available to actively participate in the advanced training programme;
  • be prepared to present a country paper on waste management practices and waste-to-energy options; and
  • have fluency in written and spoken English.
