‘Yet, still we dance’ was a unique art exhibit with works created by sex workers from eight ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste. More than 50 sex worker artists were involved in creating this exhibit using a range of mediums including sculpture, painting, fabric, and photography. It ran for 10 days at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

Access to clean and affordable modern energy is critical for social and economic development. Worldwide, about 1.5 billion have no access to electricity, and 1 billion more have access only to unreliable electricity networks. In the Himalayan country, Nepal, the towering mountains are a formidable obstacle to the people who need modern energy. Only 20 percent of the mountain villages have access to electricity.

Bangkok, 21 December - The United Nations Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Asia Pacific Coalition on Male Sexual Health (APCOM) have released a new publication series intending to document and circulate good practices, share progress, stimulate discussion, and inform priority interventions and advocacy efforts to address the rising HIV epidemic among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Asia.

Regional Consultation and Planning Workshop on 'Use of TRIPS Flexibilities to Access Affordable ARVs in Asia'
In the Asia Pacific Region, the number of people receiving anti-retroviral treatment (ART) has increased steadily to an estimated 922,000 people by end 2010, representing an estimated 39% of all people eligible for ART according to 2010 WHO Guidelines. This progress has largely been made possible by the dramatic drop in antiretroviral (ARV) prices over the last ten years due to generic competition.

Asian countries chart new courses on intellectual property and trade to increase access to AIDS treatment
Asian countries can save millions of lives by making bold steps to ensure intellectual property and free trade agreements do not impede access to AIDS treatment, concluded a high-level consultation hosted by the United Nations and regional health activists in Bangkok.
