Usapang Bakla: Assessing the Risks and Vulnerabilities of Filipino MSM and Transgender People in Three Cities

November 20, 2013

The qualitative study attempts to understand the epidemic along side the lived
experience of men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender persons. Particularly, this study aims to identify the different MSM and transgender subgroups and subpopulations, and determine their varying risks and vulnerabilities. Moreover, the research attempts to probe into, and explore exposure and access to the different components of the initially drawn comprehensive HIV intervention and prevention packages (e.g. access
to and use of condoms and lubricants, HIV counseling and testing, behavior change communication, peer education) for the MSM and transgender populations.
