Crisis prevention & recovery

UNDP has worked extensively to assist the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to recoup losses incurred in times of crisis and conflict, and to strengthen and implement policies and programmes that support the Palestinian’s recovery from crisis and live a dignified life.

Challenges

TThe volatile political and economic situation in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt), especially in the Gaza Strip, confronts UNDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (PAPP) with a number of challenges that hinder essential development assistance. Despite the constraints, UNDP is implementing programmes that contribute to creating an environment more conducive to development and peace building. more

Construction of 100 Housing Units in Gaza

he project will contribute to reducing the suffering of over 700 of Palestinians who are now without homes as their houses have been totally destroyed. The project aims to provide alternate housing to 100 families in the north of the Gaza Strip in addition to a school, a mosque and physical infrastructure (roads, water, waste water networks and electricity networks). more
