Individual Consultancy - Gender Advisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Briefing Papers, Presentations and Hand-outs for the orientation briefings on gender issues and Women Parliamentary Caucus (WPC)

§  Comparative analysis paper on international best practices in organization and policy results of Women Parliamentary Caucus in a number of selected countries as relevant for Pakistan

§  Summary notes and summary emails from meetings with members of federal parliament and provincial assemblies, gender CSOs and other partners for the project's gender work.

§  Prepare the Project Annual Work Plan 2014 for the fourth component of the new project related to women parliamentarians and gender policy

§  Assessment Paper on opportunities and obstacles to the creation and functioning of a Women Parliamentary Caucus in the Federal Parliament and in those interested Provincial Assemblies considering the creation of such Caucus.

Period of assignment/services (if applicable):                7th November 2013 to 31st December 2013

Pakistan's One UN Programme (OP I) was signed on 4 February 2009 in the presence of the UN Secretary General and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Initially for a two-year period from 2009 to 2010, OP I was extended until December 2012 by mutual agreement of the Government of Pakistan and the UN.
