Montenegro to host UNDP’s global Knowledge and Innovation gathering
What: Montenegro will host UNDP’s 3 day global session What role for innovation in the Strategic Plan?, the first global meeting that the largest UN agency has organized in this country. The session will gather nearly 70 UNDP senior level executives, Resident Coordinators and innovation champions from 26 countries at 4 continents. Montenegro has been selected building on successful initiatives in the field of knowledge and innovation carried out by the UNDP Country Office and its national partners. This will, therefore, be an opportunity to recognize Montenegro innovators and showcase their work to UNDP directors from around the world.

Objectives of UNDP’s session are to i) operationalize the innovation component of its new Strategic plan; ii) define a corporate innovation work plan for 2014; iii) identify a draft pipeline of project, and iv) identify changes in corporate policies that can support innovation. The expected outcome is endorsement of 2014 Innovation action plan for UNDP.
Organizers are the Bureau for Development Policy (BDP), Bureau of Management (BOM); Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS (RBEC) and UNDP Country Office in Montenegro.
This global UNDP event is another opportunity for Montenegro to showcase its work, to learn from the leading experts and be the center of global discussion on how to make new technologies and innovation work best for development.
