Addressing Urban Hot Spots in Lebanon

Addressing Urban Hot Spots in Lebanon

February 28, 2014

The project aims to reduce and mitigate inter and intra communal tensions in selected urban areas in Beirut and Saida with potential for conflict, in order to mitigate potential outbreaks or escalations of violence at the local level.

It aims to respond to existing conflict dynamics reflecting tensions between Lebanese groups as well as between Lebanese and Palestinian in informal gatherings and adjacent areas, while focusing on the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC). Specifically, the project seeks the development and implementation of inclusive strategies for safer neighborhoods in an integrated manner targeting the national, local and neighborhood levels.
