Since the 1960s', the United Nations Development Programme in Kuwait (UNDP Kuwait) has been partnering with people at all levels to help build a nation that can withsand crisis and drive and sustain the kind of growth that improves quality of life for everyone. UNDP Kuwait works to assist this growth with ongoing projects and initiatives.
UNDP has been working in Kuwait for more than 30 years cooperating with the Government and civil society to realize the country's aspirations for achieving sustainable human development. In view of Kuwait's financial affluence that guarantees one of the highest standards of living for its citizens, UNDP designs its programmes of cooperation to respond to this unique situation where wealth is not matched by a parallel level of human development. UNDP partners with all Kuwaiti stakeholders to build national capacity to develop a more efficient public sector, support women empowerment, environmental sustainability and private sector development.
Within the framework of the cooperation between the United Nations Development Programme and the State of Kuwait and the high interest in activating the role of the National Assembly in exercising its legislative, oversight and representative functions, the two parties agreed on implementing the “Support Project for the National Assembly Secretariat”.

Over the past decade, youth antisocial and violent behavior has become a great national concern and a top political policy issue that has been sensationalized by media coverage of rare but devastatingly violent crimes committed by youth at schools and public places. Youth involvement in such dysfunctional and violent behaviors put them at risk of being incarcerated, prosecuted, losing their education, career future, and maybe their lives.
