The Millennium Development Goals Eight Goals for 2015

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight goals to be achieved by 2015 that respond to the world's main development challenges. The MDGs are drawn from the actions and targets contained in the Millennium Declaration that was adopted by 189 nations-and signed by 147 heads of state and governments during the UN Millennium Summit in September 2000.

Our Partnerships

  • Alt Kenya has made tremendous efforts in implementing the MDGs since the process started in September, 2002. While the country is on course to achieve universal primary education du e to the introduction of the free public primary education and reduction of HIV/AIDS as a result of the introduction of free antiretroviral (ARV) drugs in Government health facilities hence improving the survival rates of people living with HIV, other MDGs are still lagging behind. Link
  • Alt With the launching of the Vision 2030 and its first MTP (2008-2012), the UNDP supports the Government’s initiative to disseminate the documents and sensitise the people of Kenya and its partners on the development goals enshrined in the Vision 2030. This is highly important. More
