This Consolidated Annual Report on activities implemented under the “Raising Competitiveness of the Region through Innovative Approaches to Regional Planning and Social Services” Joint Programme сovers the period from 1 January to 31 December 2012.
This report is presented in two parts. Part I is the Annual Narrative Report and Part II is the Annual Financial Report for the pass-through funded portion of the Joint Programme.

Highlights

  • The reduction in Infant Mortality Rate from 20.7 per 1000 live births in 2010 to 15.8 in 2012 is the crucial success.
  • The pilot suicide prevention programme covering 31 educational institutions and 3,000 children and adolescents was introduced in the region and resulted in a strengthened intersectoral coordinated work and identification of 780 young people at risk and 78 at high risk of suicidal behavior and their further referral to consultation and treatment.
  • In addition to the five existing centers, 28 more family support centers were established in the region.
  • During 2012, a total of 1789 adults were served by these centers and 270 children were placed into families.
