Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme organized a meeting within the context of the Post 2015 Agenda National Consultations for Jordan on the 11th of March 2013 at the Business Forum at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University.

UNDP has been engaged in post 2015 Agenda consultations with different development partners, globally and nationally. In Jordan, dialogues have been on going since November 2012 with the government, youth groups, academia and NGOs to formulate a national contribution to the post 2015 Global Agenda. The meeting brought together private sector organizations, UN agencies and government representatives, to discuss the views and the potential engagement of the private sector in shaping the post 2015 development agenda.

It also aimed at creating a platform for dialogue on the vital role private sector plays in development. It paved the way for a more proactive involvement of the private sector in setting the national development goals in the post 2015 framework.

The progress towards achieving the MDGs in Jordan was presented, the Post 2015 development agenda process introduced and examples on the involvement of the private sector in the post 2015 consultations at the global level provided. The role of private sector in inclusive economic growth and employment was discussed as well as the needed enabling environment.
